This is the long awaited finale in the series of blogs i have done about the HW talent outside the ufc that should be brought in from Promotions abroad. This last blog will include almost all European heavies that have serious skill and would be a huge asset to the ufc, bellator, and hell all us mma promotions.

So well lets just get on into it as im eager to get going......

25yrs 6'5 249lbs record of 11-0

fighting out of Xtreme Couture

current Western European Heavyweight champ& M-1 global Heavy weight champ
Master of sport in sambo, noteable wins over kenny garner and maxim grishin

This guy has an all around solid game from good powerful hands to excellent sambo trips and takedown defense ,He has a good dirty boxing game and a solid all around ground game.He likes leg locks and kimuras but has mostly pulled off rear naked chokes after strikes from the back. His gnp has been evolving especially his elbows. His standup is effective just needs more technical input but this guy seriously would make for some excellent fights stateside.

My overall grade for him is a solid A he has all the right tools to win and finish impressively with a few technical adjustments he could be a real killer.

Image

Shamil Abdurahimov

30yrs 6'3 231lbs record of 12-2

fighting out of Team Deresvet FT

Former ADFC Heavyweight champ, noteable wins over sokoudjou, jeff monson, baga agaev

This guy is another example of a solid well rounded fighter,he has great boxing with ko power in his hands as well as a few kicks and good clinch work.He has good sambo style takedowns and great hips for positioning. He is known as a ground specialist but has the chops to stand if desired.Usually striking until unsuccesful or just to set up the takedown.
All in all a i give him a solid A. he is a guy who can finish you from all positions on the ground and hurt you and even finish you standing as well. His Standup needs some technical work but his brother is a standup specialist who is great for helping with his holes.

Image

Magomed Abdurahimov

28yrs 6'2 228lbs record of 2-0

fighting out of Team Deservet FT

noteable win over alexei kudin

This guy is a stand up specialist with a SANDA style making his strikes quick ,powerful, and unexpected coming from different angles. He is fairly new to pro mma but has all the right skills and training partners to build him quick. He has a viscous relentless style making him fun to watch but he needs to work on control so he doesn't gas as easy. His main weakness is his ground game but his brother has been helping with that and he looks to improve every fight.

my overall grade for him is a B+ he has a wicked stand up game with a different style making for good matchups and has the training core to fill in his holes quick with some dedicated wrestling and grappling this guy could be a real threat to a title somewhere.

Image

Alexander Volkov

23yrs 6'7 213lbs record of 15-3

fighting out of Red Devil Sports Club

notable win over ricco rodriguez

This guy is a tall lanky fighter who uses his kicks and footwork to work the outside striking game.He has a good technical style not ko power but punches in bunches and he is pretty accurate with is hands and feet.He also has an improving clinch game as well as submissions.he is like stefan struve just with better kick boxing but worse bjj.

my overall grade for him is a B+ he has great striking overall he just needs to be more about footwork he gets caught backing up if he were more angles he would do better also his ground game is a work in progress but has had great sparring and is looking to make a serious name for himself.

Image

Vitaly Minakov

27yrs 6'2 230lbs record of 7-0

fighting out of Sambo 70

3x world sambo champion

This guy has a great set of skills he has world class sambo that he uses to attack rather than as a defensive tactic like fedor or other famous sambo practitioners. He has a limited striking game but is working on it constantly. He has a solid chin and a huge heart able to take blows and still keep coming and get the takedown. His ground game is world class and he can roll with anyone on the ground. His subs are excellent and his gnp is comin along great.

all in all i give him a solid A he has the great grappling u need to control the fight and to stay out of danger with some tweaks to his stand up he will be an unstoppable force.

Image

This guy is a straight forward heavy hitter with ko power in his hands and deceptive speed and agility. He has a decent dirty box game and a good overall ground game atleast when it comes to defense. He is a viscous attacker and looks to hurt you with every blow. His boxing gets better every fight and his ability to take shots is amazing.

all in all i give him a solid A as his stand up and defensive wrestling are very good allowing him to keep the fight where he wants.His main holes are his ground game and his aggressive nature with some ground work and more technical boxing he will be a true ko artist in the heavy weight ranks.(basically a quicker shorter version of lavar johnson}

Image

This guy is basically a new world crocop he has high level elite kick boxing meaning he can ko you with any limb he so chooses and has an excellent defensive grappling and takedown defense game making him a wrestlers nitemare. His clinch work is devastating and his ground game has been evolving slowly but surely.

all in all i give him a B+ his stand up is sick and devastating with some serious wrestling he will be a JDS with kicks hw division look out he is young enough to still further evolve and showcase his true talents.

Image

Magomed Malikov

28yrs 6'0 233lbs record of 6-2

ko aleksander emelianenko with 1 weeks notice, also ko alexey oleinik

This guy is a relentless non stop always forward style stand up fighter. He has powerful fast hands with ko power and always throws to end fights. His ground game is decent but needs work but his takedown defense is great and so is his clinch work. His fights are always entertaining.

all in all he gets a B+ his stand up is outrageous but he needs more technical striking to be more effective and to not get tired as fast.also his ground game needs to be improved but he has the skill to be a real threat and with some technical training he will be a real high level beast.

Image

all in all he gets a solid A he has all the right tools excellent grappling and wrestling with a good base in boxing that is growing quickly. He hasn't fought alot of high level guys but has shown a willingness to improve and take on all comers.Wit some technical boxing ans some top sub game work he will be a huge phenom in mma.

Image

Ruslan Magomedov

25yrs 6'4 255lbs record of 8-1

fighting out of Golden Glory

Amateur kickboxing career with high credentials

noteable win over ricco rodriquez

This guy has a great agile style of striking with quick and effective punches. He is not really a power puncher more of a karate style fighter with good accuracy and speed using angles to attack then dart away.He has quick hand and foot speed making kicks almost completely un telegraphed. He has a limited but proficent ground game that is ever evolving.

all in all my grade is a solid A he is a high level deadly striker who is young enough to still train up his ground game and become a real legend in the sport. With some real boxing work and some serious wrestling work he will no doubt be a champion.

Image

Maxim Grishin

27yrs 6'3 220lbs record of 13-6

all in all i give him a B+ he has a great stand up base as well as a decent ground game to build off.As well he has an entire training camp with world class coaches and sparring partners to further his game. His last fight was at 205 but he has said he will return to hw soon. With some boxing and dirty boxing coaching he could be a real dangerous grinder.

This guy is a ground wizard one of the most decorated bjj paractitoners in mma today he has excellent grappling overall and has a great clinch game as well.He has solid boxing with good kicks and use of the elbows and kneese as well.He really has an all around great game.

all in all my grade for him is an B+ while he does posses crazy jujitsu his cardio isnt the greatest and he is a bit older but if he were to sign with a us company right now he could be a solid mid tier fighter and possibly make a run for a title. His last fight he got submitted but it was due to his cardio he has made a promise to fix that next fight we will see but a dangerous fighter no doubt.
