It looks like Bellator has finally worked out Ediie Alvarez's next fight, and it appears that he's finally getting his long rumored rematch with DREAM champ, Shinya Aoki at Bellator 66 on April 20th.
Eddie Alvarez has one fight left on his Bellator contract, and its going to be against Shinya Aoki, for a rematch that Alvarez has waited for since 2008 when Aoki tapped out the ex Bellator champ in 1:32 via heel hook.
Since the loss to Aoki in 2008, Alvarez went on a 7 fight win streak, a streak that was snapped by Michael Chandler last year at Bellator 58.
Since Aoki was beat up by Strikeforce's Gilbet Melendez back in July 2010, Aoki has gone on a 7 fight winning streak, where he most recently defeated his friend and training partner Satoru Kitaoka at Fight For Japan: Genki Desu Ka Omisoka 2011.
