Dan Hardy has been campaigning for a fight for weeks now, setting his sights lately on Matt Hughes, but it looks like the UFC have another opponent in mind for the British fan favorite.
UFC officials have announced that verbal agreements are now in place and that Hardy is now set to face Duane Ludwig at UFC 146.
Hardy's back is quite possibly up against the wall in this fight, Losing 4 in a row he's somehow survived the UFC's axe, likely because he's a fan favorite, not many, if anyone at all has survived a 4 fight losing streak in the UFC.
Hardy was last seen fighting Chris Lytle in what would be Lytle's farewell performance, losing via submission to the UFC veteran and making it four losses in a row for the Brit.
Duane Ludwig position with the UFC isn't as precarious, but he has gone 2-3 in his last five fights and could face the same fate as Hardy if he suffers a loss here.
Here's the UFC 146 card so far:
- Champ Junior Dos Santos vs. Alistair Overeem (for heavyweight title)*
- Edson Barboza vs. Evan Dunham
- Dan Hardy vs. Duane "Bang" Ludwig
- C.B. Dollaway vs. Jason "Mayhem" Miller
- Paul Sass vs. Jacob Volkmann
The event takes place May 26 in Las Vegas at MGM Grand Garden Arena.
