Well it looks like James Toney can't get enough of MMA, Toney now has his next opponent in mind, this time it's the much slower, and less relevant Ken Shamrock, Ken has toiled unsuccessfully in MMA since his departure from the Big show, amassing a terrible record of 3-9 since 2002, losing to virtual unknowns at small shows around the globe. sadly his career choices after the UFC have cast quite a sad shadow over his legacy mma fighter and mma pioneer. The massive amounts of Steroids likely didn't help either...
According to BJPenn.com, and Toney's camp, the 47-year-old Shamrock and the 42-year-old Toney have both signed on for the contest, though a specific date and location have yet to be announced. Though El Paso, Texas, is rumoured to be the leading candidate to host the match up.
I'm sure we all remember last year when the mumbling and often incoherent Toney trash talked MMA and his opponent leading up to his 1st round submission loss to Randy Couture, Couture made quick work of Toney who looked completely out of his element in the fight, Taking him down with a double leg, and submitting him easily at 3:19 of the 1st round by arm triangle. Recently Toney defended his IBF title for the 1st time since 2009 by decision'ing Damon Reed to retain his title and pushing his boxing record to 73-6-3
Stay tuned for more updates on this fight as I'm sure the trash mumbling Toney will start tweeting soon enough.
