Rashad Evan's on Jones: ’Anybody can lose, any given day, and he’s going to find that out”

Rashad Evan's doesn't buy into Jon Jones' confidence, and in some ways he thinks it could be his undoing, speaking at the pre-fight press conference thursday, Evans took some shots at is opponent, but Jones didn't seem all that interested in getting into any trash talk with the former light heavyweight champ.

For Jones, he believes it's all about destiny, not trash talk;

“I just have a really strong conviction, and I think conviction’s stronger than belief. I’m convinced that it’s my time just to be here and to be champion for years to come. When you’re a believer there’s really no reason to speak about it,” Jones said.

Evan's referenced the past light heavyweigh champs like “Rampage” Jackson, Lyoto Machida, and others that also believed they were destined to be the champ for many years.

“See, that’s one thing that Jon doesn’t understand. There’s no such thing as ‘time.’ There’s been so many people like him that’s always been ‘the one.’ That’s the secret, there is no ‘one.’ Anybody can lose, any given day, and he’s going to find that out,” Evans stated.

Evans' strongly believes he'll beat Jones purely based on the fact that he has extensive knowledge of how Jones operates and his fighting style and tendancies because he's trained with him for so long at Jackson's MMA in New Mexico.

“I’ve got big advantages knowing what he’s going to do, just knowing the range, where I need to fight him at. Just training with him and knowing what he’s good at, where he likes to fight. I already know what I need to do, I’m not going to get in there and get frozen watching all the beautiful stuff he throws. I’m going to get in there and just mix it up.” said Evans.

At the end of the conference Evans’ promised Jones:

“This fight won’t go five rounds,”

All Jones had to say was:

“Mark his words,” Jones replied.
