After five-years away from the world famous Octagon long-time MMA veteran John Alessio will get his wish as he fills in for an injured Matt Wiman against top lightweight Mark Bocek.

Bocek announced the opponent change via his Twitter when saying:

“Hey guys my new opponent at UFC 145 is John Alessio. Wiman is out with a knee injury.”

10-1 in his last 11 fights Alessio will be looking to make a statement in his first fight in the UFC since losing to Diego Sanchez at UFC 60. After a very impressive run outside of the UFC the 32-year-old will be looking to make the most out of his second chance inside of the Octagon.

After an impressive start to his UFC career despite only being 4-0 when making his Octagon debut Mark Bocek will be looking to get back his winning ways after going 2-2 in his last four outings. A win will give the submission artist back-to-back wins.

The fight will be taking place on April 21st at UFC 145 which takes place at the Philips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. For more news, updates, and rumors on all things MMA stay connected with www.MMAMATRIX.com.
