UFC on FUEL TV 4: James Te Huna vs. Brandon Vera likely

The heavy handed New Zealander James Te Huna appears to have his next opponent lined up, and claiming he is set to face off against Brandon "The Truth Vera" at UFC on FX 4.

Although the UFC has yet to make this official, Te Huna announced via his twitter account that he will be facing Vera a few hours ago:

Te Huna is 3-1 in the UFC and 8-1 in his last 9 fights, he last appeared at UFC on FX: Alves vs. Kampmann where he smoked Aaron Rosa via TKO (punches), needing only 2:08 to complete the task.

Vera last fought at UFC 137back in October, fighting to an unspectacular unanimous decision over Eliot Marshall. Marshall was subsequently released from the UFC after this fight. Vera has been on the cusp of being released from the UFC for a long time now, He was actually released after he lost to Thiago Silva back at UFC 125, but it turned out that Silva was caught for using steroids, the NSAC had suspended Silva, overturned his win, and ruled it a no contest. The ruling prompted the UFC to give Vera another chance, Lucky for Vera he beat Marshall to stave off the UFC's axe. Losing against fast rising Te Huna will likely seal his fate as a UFC fighter.

UFC on FX 4 is set for June 22, 2012 in Atlantic City, New Jersey, although the venue has yet to be announced, the event will be headlined by a Lightweight contenders bout between Clay Guida and Gray Maynard.
