It seems as if Dana White could not wait any longer in making a decision in the wake of former top Heavyweight contender, Alistair Overeem, and his failure to meet compliance with the NSAC's drug testing regulations. The UFC President tweeted last night that Overeem will be replaced by Frank Mir who will now challenge Heavyweight Champion, Junior "Cigano" Dos Santos at UFC 146. Mir had already been set to compete on the card in a very compelling match up against Cain Velasquez on the all Heavyweight main card.

Dana White stated within his announcement that Cain Velasquez will remain on the fight card, however, a fill-in opponent is still yet to be determined. Overeem and the disappointing circumstances surrounding his actions and their consequences is a huge let down for fight fans everywhere. His future in the UFC is uncertain but does not look very promising as his positive drug screen and dismissal from UFC 146 is a complete game and career changer.
