The UFC is always looking to expand their roster with some of the best fighters in the world and it appears UFC president Dana White is taking an interest in current Bellator middleweight champion Hector Lombard and former Bellator lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez as he may pursue the two exciting knockout artist and attempt to get them to join the UFC roster.
Eddie Alvarez has expressed desire to fight inside the Octagon in the past although he has stated he wanted some job security if he was to go to the UFC. Picking up the biggest win of his career at Bellator 66 with a quick first round knockout over Shinya Aoki avenging his 2008 loss. Alvarez was very impressive in his last fight and has already expressed that he is not interested in going through the whole tournament process again for a possible rematch with Michael Chandler.
“I think Eddie Alvarez is a great fighter." Dana White said via MMAjunkie.com "You know us, man. We’re always looking to get the best fighters in the world in the UFC, and he’s one of them.”
It has already been reported that the UFC has officially offered a UFC contract to Hector Lombard, who is currently riding high on a 18-fight win streak which includes 10 first round finishes. Lombard has not spoken much about the possibility of him joining the UFC ranks but the Bellator champion would certainly shake up the UFC's already stacked middleweight division and UFC president Dana White likes the idea.
“I like (Hector Lombard)." White stated. "I like him a lot. So we’ll see what happens.”
It will be very interesting to see what happens in the near future Bellator CEO Bajorn Rebney has stated that he is looking over the UFC contract offer and decided whether or not he will match it. There is no news at this time on whether or not the UFC will offer or has already offered Eddie Alvarez a chance to enter the Octagon once his Bellator contract is up.
