With no shortage of up-and-coming contenders in the middleweight, welterweight, and lightweight divisions it appears three men with up and coming UFC fights may just be next in line for a shot in their respective divisions if they are able to get past their next opponent.
Middleweight knockout artist and Bellator champion Hector Lombard will be making his UFC debut against fellow knockout puncher Brian Stann in an interesting battle that can easily go to either man. Lombard, the Judo Olympian, will be looking to make a huge statement in his first UFC bout in what UFC president Dana White says could the the fastest path to a title shot since Brock Lesnar.
Elite welterweight wrestler who recently picked up a 20-second knockout victory over John Fitch, Johny Hendricks will also be on the path to his first UFC title shot as he takes on former title contender Josh Koscheck. With a win Hendricks will not only pick up back-to-back wins over his two biggest career opponents but he may also put himself in line for a title shot if he can pick up the big win at UFC on FOX 3.
Top 5 lightweight Nate Diaz will be looking to go 3-0 in his lightweight return after picking up impressive victories over Takanori Gomi and Donald Cerrone. Standing in his way will be fellow BJJ specialist Jim Miller in what is expected to be an intriguing lightweight battle. UFC president Dana White confirmed that if Diaz wins he will get the next shot at the title, but if Miller wins Miller will be one or two more fights away.
