Judo Olympian and newly crowned Strikeforce bantamweight champion Ronda "Rowdy" Rousey is expected to be taking on notable woman knockout artist and former Strikeforce champ Sarah Kaufmann in a intriguing battle between two of the most talented woman to ever enter the sport.
Ronda Rousey has made an immediate statement since entering Mixed Martial Arts dominating her first five fights winning them all by Armbar in the first round including her win for top 3 WMMA bantamweight Miesha Tate. If you believed the lack of experience would play a big factor in the outcome of her fights with veterans like Tate and Kaufmann, Rousey clearly proved the doubters wrong after throwing Tate around and making her tap out in round one.
Starting her career off at an impressive 12-0 before her first loss to Golden Glory's Marloes Coenen, Sarah Kaufmann has now picked up three wins in a row including a back-and-forth battle against Alexis Davis in her last outing. Many fans believed Kaufmann has the most exciting fight of the Strikeforce event and many also believed Kaufmann should have been next in line for the title against Tate, who she defeated in the past. Now Kaufmann will get the shot she has long desired, but not against Miesha Tate.
Although the news is currently unofficial the bout is expected to be taking place in August at an event that has not yet been announced by the promotion. For more news, updates, and rumors on all things MMA stay connected with www.MMAMATRIX.com.
