With less than 2 weeks to go before the cage door closes on Frank Mir and Junior Dos Santos, there has been no shortage of quotes, claims and predictions coming out of each camp.

Mir has challenged Dos Santos via the media on several fronts, claiming his BJJ is better, or that He plans on standing with the Champ more than anyone else ever has in hopes that it will eventually lead to an easy takedown.

Dos Santos’ BJJ coach Yuri Carlton doesn’t feel that Mir really has any advantage over the champ, and that even Mir’s claims that his BJJ is better than Dos Santos’ is what he calls “bullshit”.

Speaking to Tatame.com, Yuri Carlton gave his thoughts on how he see's the match-up.

"I’m positive that Cigano’s Jiu-Jitsu is better. He trains with the Best guys in Brazil: Minotauro, Minotouro, Anderson, Demian, just to name a few... I believe he won’t disappoint people when it comes to Jiu-Jitsu”, guarantees Carlton.

“Frank Mir trains on the United States with some Brazilians, but we have the privilege of training in Brazil. When you’re talking about Jiu-Jitsu, Brazil is the place to be. We have the great champions and Cigano is not far from being one”.

Carlton also discussed their expectations and excitement about Dos Santos’ first title defence.

“The expectations are great. On this first defence we are really excited, just like on previous bouts. His preparation is complete and he’s been training for it for years. This speculations about Mir being better on the ground is bullshit. Cigano is better on the stand-up ando n the ground. I’m positive about it”.

When asked about how he feels if Mir is actually able to take the champ down, Carlton said:

“It’s hard to take Cigano down. Until you get him there, there’s a long way ahead of you. In case he does it, Cigano is very prepared. He’s always trained Jiu-Jitsu and Wrestling. He’s ready. We don’t say it much, but there’s a lot of perseverance. He deserves to be there and he’ll remain the champion after this fight”.

If Mir is serious about trying to stand with Dos Santos, he's likely making a huge mistake, Mir doesn't have many holes in his game, but one thing he does have is a soft chin, as proven by Lesnar and Carwin  and Brandon Vera, in fact, Every single one of Mir's 5 losses have come via KO/TKO, and is now about to face one of the most feared strikers in MMA.
