Top ranked UFC bantamweight contenders Urijah Faber (25-5) and Brian Bowles (10-1) have agreed to face eachother at UFC 139 dispite both mens attempt to get another crack at the champion Dominick Cruz. Both men will need to impress in their next bout.

“Before a possible trilogy can be considered between Urijah Faber and his rival, Champion Dominick Cruz, he will take on one of the division’s truly elite fighters, former Bantamweight Champion Brian Bowles," said UFC President Dana White. "A win over Faber would be massive for Bowles’ bid to challenge for the belt that was once his. The stakes are high and the fight will be intense.”

It will be an interesting match up for both men Faber, who gave the champion a back and forth battle at UFC 132, will be looking to get back on the winning track after losing a close unanimous decision. Faber did better than any of Cruz's past opponents at bantamweight including Brian Bowles.

Bowles made his long awaited return to the cage at UFC Live where he got a first round submission win over Damacio Page, who he submitted in 2008. More recently he got a unanimous decision win over Takeya Mizugaki giving Bowles back-to-back victories and back to his winning ways.

The intriguing battle will be one to keep an eye on as it could make the 135 pound title picture more clear. The fight is not a title eliminator but it could determine the next challenge if Demetrious Johnson is not healed up in time to take on Cruz for the title. Stay tuned for more information on UFC 139.
