First ever UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz (18-1) will be putting his title on the live at UFC on Versus 6 against top ranked bantamweight contender Demetrious Johnson (10-1). This will be the first time a UFC title has been on the line on free TV since UFC 75 as UFC on Versus 6 picks up a huge main-event.

Dominick Cruz recently avenged his only loss defeating Urijah Faber by unanimous decision at UFC 132 defending his UFC bantamweight title for the first time. Now Cruz will be looking to show what the bantamweights bring to the table as he defends his title on live TV. Cruz is undefeated in the bantamweight division at 8-0.

Demetrious Johnson is currently riding a four fight winning streak with dominating upset wins over Damacio Page, Kid Yamamoto, and more recently picking up the biggest win of his career over former longtime WEC bantamweight champion Miguel Torres. Now the 5-foot-3 Johnson will look to show he has what it takes to be a champion at 135lbs.

It will be a very interesting match as we will see speed vs. speed. Cruz has shown great improvement in his game and has proven to be one of the most elusive fighters in the world with great wrestling. Johnson has shown tremendous speed, power, and conditioning as he has shown to be very effective transitioning from striking to wrestling.

UFC on Versus 6 will be taking place on October 1st at the Verizon Center in Washington D.C. This will be a historic card on Versus and it will be a must see for anybody who is a fan of MMA. Stay tuned for more news on UFC on Versus 6.
