Adding to yesterday’s announcement by UFC president Dana White that the world’s biggest MMA promotion will hold an event in South Africa, more news comes of the UFC’s intentions to also hold events in India and China.

In fact the UFC president has gone as far to say that they will definitely holding an event in China as early as this year , and that the UFC will also be doing a Ultimate Fighter season in China as well.  White was quoted a while back saying:

“We’re going to do a fight in China. So imagine our first fight in China, we’re talking about doing it in conjunction with the Venetian out there, Imagine the first fight in China; it’s going to be huge.”

White confirmed the UFC’s intentions for China with  mmaweekly.com:

“We are going to China this year, that’s already happening, We’re doing an Ultimate Fighter there too; that’s all gonna happen.” Said White.

White also discussed the UFC’s intentions to hold events in India as well, telling the media after the UFC 150 press conference yesterday:

"We've been working on India. We're going into India. That's already done. We're already on television there and now we're gonna bring a live event there very soon,"

We also reported yesterday that the UFC will also be going to South Africa as well,

"We're about to launch a deal down in South Africa. Actually, mixed martial arts is huge in South Africa right now. There's a show down there now that I just heard about that's doing 1.2 million views every time out. The sport is booming all over the world and yes, South Africa's next. That's where we're going,"

So it’s obvious that the UFC has big and aggressive plans for entering new international territories starting this year in China. Will it be South Africa or India that gets it next? And will the UFC ever hold an event in the Philippines? They we close to doing a version of the Ultimate Fighter there, and seemed quite keen on the idea up until late last year, GSP did a public work out there that drew an incredible 5,000+ spectators! Plus all of the publicity trips they have had their fighters make there, it seems odd that they haven’t mentioned their Philippine intentions within all these new international announcements.
