Anderson Silva's manager says the GSP Fight is the only fight that makes sense

Anderson Silva’s management has dismissed most of the fighters wanting to fight Silva next, Chris Weidman, Alan Belcher, Michael Bisping and Tim Boestch could all be considered decent competition for the middleweight kingpin, but none really are really well known enough to casual fans to make it a fight worth promoting, with the exception of Bisping.

Everyone who wants a shot are now saying they can KO or submit Silva, but Anderson Silva’s manager Jorge Guimaraes doesn't really believe any of those fighters are deserving of a title shot.  Guimaraes told tatame.com:

"That's a big joke," Silva's manager, Jorge Guimaraes, said about Chris Weidman, Tim Boetsch and Alan Belcher's challenges. "Everybody saw that it worked for Chael, and he got really famous with that, and now everybody wants to be on the spotlight".

But Guimaraes obviously believes that Silva has completely cleaned out the middleweight division, and when talking about who he thinks should be next Guimaraes revealed that he believes the only fight that makes sense now is the Georges St. Pierre fight.

"No opponent makes sense for Anderson at this moment. Unless we do a catchweight against Georges St. Pierre, They didn't offer the fight, but he's the only one that could do a super fight. Anderson has the biggest paycheck in the UFC, and you can't promote an event with these amateur kids that are coming up now".

Silva’s team has rejected everyone but Luke Rockhold and GSP. while the UFC is unlikely to set up either fight right now, especially with Georges in the middle of training for his fight in November and with a bit of a log jam in the welterweight division, the UFC Will likely prefer that Georges has also cleaned out the division before such a fight is made.

One thing is for sure, with Silva’s weakness being wrestlers, and with GSP being arguably the best wrestler in MMA right now, may be a recipe for disaster for Silva and his team, in my opinion Silva may want to steer clear of such a dominant wrestler like GSP, as we all know GSP won’t make the same foolish mistakes that Sonnen did. Silva is better off keeping to the competition in the middleweight division rather than risk his legacy against GSP. At least for now.
