UFC 154 in Montreal where George St. Pierre is supposed to return to action after a lengthy stay on the DL recovering from ACL surgery has just gotten two more bouts added to the card, Pablo Garza vs. Mark Hominick and Francis Carmont vs. Tom Lawlor.
The UFC announced the match-ups today (Thursday).
Hominick has had a pretty rough time over his last 3 fights, losing all 3. Hominick was on a tear going 7-1 before earning a shot at the UFC Featherweight title against Jose Aldo, a fight he’d lose in a 5 round decision, but also a fight that put him on the map as a fierce competitor after almost coming back to beat Aldo in round 5. The fight also earned him a “Fight of The Night”Bonus.
As well liked as he is, Hominck’s back is against the wall here against Garza, as it’s unlikely the UFC will tolerate a 4 th loss in a row.
Garza is also in the same boat as he also battles for consistency in his career. After starting out going 11-1, Garza has now lost his last 2 fights, most recently losing via a unanimous decision to a what appeared to be a much improved Dennis Bermudez at UFC on FOX 3.
Also, as we previously reported the unofficial match-up between Tom Lawlor and Canadian Francis Carmont, this fight has alos been confirmed and has now been made official by the UFC.
This fight will determine who goes and how stays.
UFC 154 is set for November 17, at the Bell Centre in Montreal Canada.
