The rumors for the next 2 TUF Brazil coaches have pegged Lyoto Machida and Mauricio "Sogun" Rua as the two possible coaches. But now after Lyoto Machida utterly destroyed Ryan Bader in the co-main event Saturday night at UFC on FOX 4 in Los Angeles, a win that earned him the next shot at the Light Heavyweioght title. This obviously removes Machida as a potential Coach.
According Lil'Nog in an interview with tatame.com, he has revealed his desire to fill that spot and go up against Rua as a coach on the second installment of the UFC's TUF Brazil.
“I would love to, it’d be awesome… A dream”
Nogueira and Shogun Rua previously fought ina epic battle at Pride’s Grand Prix in 2005, where Rua won the fight, the fight was later labelled as one of the best fights in MMA history, of course lil'Nog would like revenge for his loss with another crack at the ex-light heavyweight champion.
“It would be very good to me and it would be a rematch of 2005’s fight, which is something people wanna see. If I have a chance to coach the guys at TUF and also fight him, it would be amazing”, said Nogueira.
