Dana White revealed a good chunk of info after last nights UFC 150 event, where White broke the news that Anderson Silva will be taking the remainder of the year off and will not fight until early 2013.

White while speaking with mmaweekly.com also confirmed that Chris Weidman is indeed the #1 contender in the middleweight division.

“Anderson said he wants to take some time off until after the end of this year, we’ll start talking to him. He’s (Weidman) going to have to wait or fight because Anderson’s going to fight after the beginning of the year.”

White also discussed that he is still open to the GSP vs. Silva bout and with the fact that the UFC had stated that they would like to see GSP defeat Condit before they seriously consider putting that fight together, and the fact that Silva is waiting until 2013 to fight again, appears like Silva is waiting on GSP's situation to play itself out first as he and his team have made it quite clear that they have no interest in fighting an inexperienced and virtually unknown fighter such as Weidman next in the Octagon for the middleweight strap.
