According to mmaweekly.com, it appears that a official announcement about the UFC and FOX uniting on a broadcast TV deal may imminent.
Today, news and rumors first began to pop up that the UFC had struck a deal with FOX , with both allegedly agreeing to a multi-year deal to move UFC events to the network starting in 2012.
According to these sources, this deal would include up to four UFC shows on FOX’s flagship network station per year, as well as programming like ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ and other UFC shows moving over to FX and the FOX owned Fuel TV.
It was released on Wednesday by John Ourand from Sports Business Daily that FOX executives were in Los Angeles for a press conference currently scheduled for Thursday that would be, "one of the biggest announcements in FOX Sports history."
UFC President Dana White has also flown to Los Angeles as he confirmed via his Twitter account.
Considering that White has been working on a broadcast TV deal for years now, with the UFC becoming such a huge success and with the sport exploding both internationally and in North America it now appears like he may have finally gotten the terms he desired.
MMAMatrix will report any advancements in this story as the information becomes available... stay tuned!
