Stephan Bonnar vs Kyle Kingsbury at UFC 139

Stephan-Bonnar-Krzysztof-Soszynski

After talk of having Stephan Bonnar fight Josh Koscheck at UFC 139, Bonnar will instead be facing Kyle Kingsbury at UFC 139. After the light heavyweight and welterweight clashed over Bonnar's "Trash Talkin Kids" business venture, rumors of a potential middleweight fight between the two UFC vets gained steam.

Today, though, officials announced that Bonnar (13-7 MMA, 7-6 UFC) instead will fight fellow light heavyweight Kyle Kingsbury (11-2 MMA, 4-1 UFC) at the November show.

UFC 139 takes place Nov. 19 at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, Cal. The night's main card, including an expected heavyweight title fight between champion Cain Velasquez and top contender Junior Dos Santos, airs on pay-per-view.

It's not clear if Bonnar vs. Kingsbury will be part of the broadcast. However, as MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) first reported earlier today, the event will get a "UFC Prelims" special on Spike TV, and Bonnar vs. Kingsbury is an early candidate for one of the two televised slots.

Bonnar, who hasn't fought in 2011 due to injuries, looks to extend his win streak to three fights following victories over Krzysztof Soszynski (TKO) and Igor Pokrajac (decision.) Prior to the wins, Bonnar was stuck in a three-fight losing streak (and overall 2-5 skid), though UFC president Dana White said that "The Ultimate Fighter 1" runner-up and fan favorite will never be released from the organization.

Kingsbury, a "TUF 8" cast member, quietly goes for his fifth straight UFC victory. After suffering a decision loss to Tom Lawlor at the TUF 8 Finale, Kingsbury has sincestrung together consecutive victories over Razak Al-Hassan, Jarred Hamman, Ricardo Romero and Fabio Maldonado. The Hamman and Maldonado wins both earned "Fight of the Night" honors.
