Dana white discussed the possibility of Josh Koscheck Fighting on AKA's home turf, San Jose at UFC 139, at the UFC 139 press conference, White responded to the questions basically saying that if either of them want in on the card, they'll have to face each other.
Speaking at the UFC 139 press conference, Dana said:
“Koscheck? I don’t know fans were asking me that earlier. We will see if he wants to fight Fitch, then they can both fight in San Jose. Koscheck told me he wants to fight in San Jose. I haven’t heard from Fitch though.”
Koscheck was a late replacement for Diego Snachez at UFC 135 last weekend, and came out with a KO victory over a scrappy Matt Hughes.
Fitch last fought in February 2011 at UFC 127 vs. BJ Penn where he fought to a draw, he has been sidelined with a shoulder injury since and has just recently resumed training.
This whole Fitch vs. Koscheck fight has been talked about for years, both fighters have expressed many times their complete dis-interest in fighting each other claiming they are too good of friends to do it. They out right refuse to, but considering both are in top 10 of the UFC's welterweight division, it makes it very difficult for the UFC to determine contender ship fights when these 2 won't fight each other. Eventually one of them will have to move up, drop down or do the unthinkable, actually fight..
