Now this is a card. Top to bottom, this is one of the best cards on paper that we have seen lately. UFC on FOX cards usually have a very good lineup and a good lead in fight on the prelims, while this one is loaded all the way through. The main event is a title eliminator between two finishers - Travis Browne is a killer, and Fabricio Werdum, well, Werdum tapped Fedor and Big Nog .

With such a quick turnaround from the Abu Dhabi Fight Pass, we at MMA Matrix hope you have had a chance to catch your breath before we press on to the next card, the TUF Nations Finale. Although at this point, it would be correct to call it the TUF Nation: Canada finale. To say the Australians didn’t do so hot during the competition is putting it mildly. They were slaughtered one after another the whole season. They were just not as talented as their Canadian competition and it was apparent right away. That resulted in an all Canada finale on this card. For a mid-week TUF Finale card, this has some great matchups, including the main event, which has been a shit talking fest for years now, to the point where I can’t stand Tim Kennedy saying anything anymore about Bisping, because it is literally the lamest smack talk ever heard. Lets get right to the undercard, and see what happens here…

Although this article may seem it is directed at Jake Shields, its not. It is directed at us, the fans. On the one hand, you have the fans who were saying, after he was cut, that Dana is making a huge mistake, and they will be diminishing their product by getting rid of top guys, even if they are terrible draws, and have a non-crowd pleasing way of fighting.

Welcome back, fight fans, to an action packed April, full of free fights and culminating with the light heavyweight championship being put on the line. Starting with this show in Abu Dhabi, we have 3 free events in 10 days. Thats a crazy schedule, but a great run up for fans, and it also allows the UFC Fight Pass to get its shine, as some of the events are only available to the US fan base via this channel. Although this is a topic for another column and another day, I believe that the UFC will be part of the “TV revolution”, if you will, where the consumer has the ability to pick and choose the content they will pay for, much like Fight Pass. Anyways… Lets take a look at this Fight Pass exclusive by starting with a brief breakdown of some of the undercard action.
Remember the days and times are different than your usual UFC events due to it taking place in Abu Dhabi, we'll have the card and broadcast times at the bottom of this article.

Saturday, March 29, many questions will be answered at the premier submission grappling challenge known as Metamoris. Metamoris is a 20 minute, submission only grappling tournament where the fans basically vote for the matchups they want to see. This specific event sold out in 5 minutes, as there was only 700 seats available, making for an intimate spectator experience. The whole production is available as a live stream.
The main event: Eddie Bravo vs. Royler Gracie is a rematch of the day that Eddie Bravo became the "Eddie Bravo", when as a brown belt, he triangled Royler Gracie at the ADCC quarterfinals in 2003. What was labeled then as a fluke, and a huge mistake by Gracie is now coming back to the forefront as Eddie looks to prove that he deserved that win. There are a number of big names on this card as well, and some great match-ups. And if you have not been exposed to submission only grappling, this would be a great time to get familiar, because I have a feeling that this will be an up and coming sport, spectator wise, and there is also a push to have it included in the Olympics going forward.

The last UFC event in March is here, and as we prep for the busiest month so far ( April has 3 events in 8 days, and then the UFC 172 PPV on April 26th), we are looking at these great matchups and seeing the old guard of MMA battling it out in the main events, while the newcomers make noise. This card features the rematch of Shogun Rua vs Dan Henderson, a slugfest from 2011. I want to quickly run through a few of the undercard matchups before diving in to the main card fights. There are a ton of middle of the road fighters on this card, guys that can either get to the next level with a win, or perhaps be looking for a job with a loss and a bad showing. Lets see what Natal, Brasil has in store for the UFC fans.

In a busy month of March, this is the event that has been circled on calendars the world over. American Airlines arena will be the home for UFC 171, the day that the 170 lbs division took to the forefront of the MMA world. The crowning of a new Welterweight champion for the first time in 6 years, now that the greatest welterweight of all time has hung up the gloves. We will also determine who is the next welterweight contender by way of the co main event, Carlos Condit or Tyron Woodley. Also, Diego Sanchez looks to notch another FOTN win bonus when he goes to war with Myles Fury Jury. We will look at the four preliminary fights first, then further break down the stacked Main Card. Without further ado, lets get to it.

There will be a new welterweight champion, a new challenger for Ronda Rousey, some basic elimination of potential contenders in the LHW and HW division, and definitive word on who is next for Aldo, Barao, and Mighty Mouse. Lets get to this weekends matchups, where I will pick a few fights from the undercard and briefly break them down.
